Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015

Nafiza

Let’s see.

  1. Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth
I’ve had this for a long time on my reading pile. Maybe if I can manage it, I shall read it for the retelling month, that is, March. We’ll see.
  2. Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman
Eeee! The long awaited sequel to Seraphina!
  3. Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray
Another sequel, this one to The Diviners which I adored.
  4. The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
I should have had this read a long time ago but the size of the book is immense. But I read a few pages and it is easy reading so I shall read it in the coming year.
  5. The Beast Keeper by Cat Hellisen
Because I’m lucky, I have an ARC of this. I shall be talking about this in great detail during Retellings month (March.)
  6. My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk
I’ve had this on my reading pile for far too long. Must get it read and done.
  7. The Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson
I’ve read the first book, half of the second one and I really want to complete the trilogy.

Janet

  1. Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman – supposed to be released on March 10, 2015.
  2. The Shadow Cabinet by Maureen Johnson (book three of The Shades of London) – supposed to be released on February 10, 2015.
  3. Clariel: The Lost Abhorsen by Garth Nix – already released, but I haven’t got my hands on a copy yet.

Who knows what piece of serendipity I will stumble upon next?

Yash

I feel like we just made this list. *shrug* Oh well. Since Nafiza and Janet have already mentioned Shadow Scale, The Shadow Cabinet, and The Lair of Dreams, here are some other books I can’t wait to get my hands on:

  1. Fairest/Winter by Marissa Meyer: I’m glad we get two books next year. And Fairest is coming out in January!
  2. Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy/The Dark Artifices/The Last Hours by Cassandra Clare: More shadowhunter stories Magnus Bane!
  3. Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan: Another urban fantasy set in New York! I can’t wait!
  4. The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black: I have it on good authority that this is pretty awesome. (I mean, it is Holly Black.)
  5. Court of Fives by Kate Elliott: Apparently her first book for YA audiences? I’m very excited for this one!
  6. Shadowshaper by Daniel José Older: I encountered the cover and summary on Tumblr. It looks like it could be something I become very obsessed with …
  7. I am hoping that the next books in Marie Lu’s fantastic The Young Elites series and Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle series will somehow, magically be out next year.

  • Yes Shadow Scale!!

    More books to consider

  • And I my Nook library just grew . . .

    • Yash

Ha! We totally get you! 🙂

  • The Luminaries is great, but I can see why you waited. It’s the kind of book that you need to read in a cosy room over a few weekends. Haven’t got round to reading Clariel yet, but I’m super excited for it. 🙂

  • I have never made “to read ” list , i mean you dont know what book is going to cross your road and fall in love with :p , i do always make a number i want reach of books , like 50 books or less 😉 … anyway goodluck , and enjoy ✋

  • I’ve read the girl with the dragon tattoo and the girl who played with fire, but still haven’t go the chance to read the third book :'(
How did you like the first book? Did you watch the movie?

    • I liked the book, not the movie so much. I think I’d much rather imagine stuff in my head than have them imagined for me. Haha.
