A Cat Named Swan is designed to tug at your heartstrings and tug at your heartstrings it will. I mean, unless you have a stone heart there is pretty much no way you can resist a picturebook about a kitten who has been abandoned and now travels the great world alone in an attempt to find a home and a family to belong to.
Will kids love this? Yes. I mean, you don’t even need to ask? What kid doesn’t like books about kittens? I mean, yes some don’t but usually they wait until they are older to develop likes and dislikes where animals are concerned. Hoh. Anyway, Swan the kitten goes through some hard times and has some difficult experiences but do not fret, at the end of the day, he is adopted into a good family who loves him and who belong to him.
It’s a cute picturebook with cute art. I liked it.
